Giveaway! The Very Hungry Caterpillar

The Very Hungry Caterpillar

*GIVEAWAY CLOSED*

Hooray for Queens Mama's first giveway!

One randomly-selected reader will win a board book copy of Eric Carle's classic THE VERY HUNGRY CATERPILLAR. All you have to do is post a memory of your favorite childhood book in the comments section below by May 23.

Reading THE VERY HUNGRY CATERPILLAR is one of my most vivid memories of nursery school. Much better than my one other vivid memory of forgetting my show and tell and having to sit in the coat rack as punishment!

I mean, what was there not to love about a book that was so colorful and so fun in its design that you didn't even realize it was teaching you to count? What a very talented and deviously-educational man Carle is!

More than 40 years after its publication, THE VERY HUNGRY CATERPILLAR has been translated into over 47 languages and brings back such happy memories for so many of us that we must share it with our little ones. I'm so happy I can give this book away to one reader to pass along to a special child.

Good luck and stay tuned for more giveways!

  1. One of my favorite books as a child was The Monster at the End of this Book. It was so much fun to read it and know that by turning every page you were getting closer and closer to the monster! I can't wait to read my favorite books to my little boy.

  2. Well I was born in Moscow, Russia so my favorite book was a little different. It was about how this boy got all dirty and the book was teaching him how to get himself cleaned up by scrubbing and rubbing. It was really cute!!! I wish I could remember the name of it.

  4. I enjoy taking my kids to the library now..because I see books that I used to read as a child. Last time we went to the library I found a copy of Squirrel Nutkin! And it brought back memories of my mom and dad reading to me. The story I remember is Squirrel Nutkin loosing his tail over doing something naughty!

  5. I would love to win this for my son who is due in 11 weeks! I loved when my dad used to read me the Little Bear books. I remember he would use a different voice for each character which was absolutely hilarious to my 5 year old self! Great giveaway :)
